Backup Fire
Backup for Firestore and Firebase users
I've just got back from vacation and finished the billing system I was working on before I left. Along with it, I improved many parts of the system and fixed known bugs.
I shipped this version, and now Backup Fire is a paid product. It's still cheap, starting at $9/month when paid annually. I'm going to increase the price when I add more features and make the product more overall polished. But, for now, I want to let early adopters enjoy a discounted rate as a symbol of gratitude for trust and support.
I've finished working on the landing, added legal pages, put a cookie banner, integrated chat widget, and now Backup Fire looks like a product!
Take a look πββοΈ https://backupfire.dev
I contacted the people that left their email on the test landing that I started with and invited them to try the product.
The next step is to integrate billing and start selling it.

Very nice and clean interface! User education is on point, as it ensures the viewer understands what Backup Fire solves.

Hey Sasha
I really like the artwork! Very cool.
Although it was readable as it is, Iβd say maybe make the page responsive.
Nice work!

Looks great! I really find your landing page effective.
Have you found the core product being open source to be compelling to prospective customers?

Thanks!
When initially I talked to the people interested in the product, they all were concerned about privacy and security β making the core open-source have addressed at least part of it.

I wish you good luck bro. The landing page looks kool. With the minimalism style user interface you nailed it.

I've finished an alpha version that contains the core functionality, but it's still not a product that I can share with the world. After the initial user testing, I realized that the activation step where users integrate Backup Fire into their project is complicated, so I worked hard on making it as smooth as possible and filled it with helpful information and hints. I'm afraid that this step will be the bottleneck, but there's nothing I can do at the moment to make it easier.
Now I'm ready to turn it into product and start closed beta testing. The next step is to create a basic landing page that would explain how the service works. After that, I'm planning to start making Zoom calls with interested people and observe how they integrate the product and help them when necessary. I already have one interested dev that contacted me proactively and agreed to make such a session. I think it's a good sign!

I posted more ads on Google for phrases "firebase backup," "backup firebase," "firestore backup," and "backup firestore" and grew the subscribers list up to 20.
From the first eight that I got on the first day, two leads shown high interest in the product.
Also, the ads experiment demonstrated me that there's traffic interested in the matter that I can target.

I work with Firebase for six years, and during the time, I saw it transforming from a database as a service to an all-in-one platform for apps development and growth. Even though Firebase has plenty of services, it doesn't provide serviced backups for its data.
I liked the niche and decided to test the waters. I quickly created a landing using Carrd: https://backfire.store, created thread at Firebase Subreddit, posted ads on Google and Twitter. In total, I spent β¬50 and got six leads that I immediately started interviewing.

I noticed that it's tedious to backup Firebase data and so many never do it risking losing the trust of customers and possibly a lot of money. I decided to build serviced backups that would be easy to set up and maintain
