BaseClass Newsletter
A newsletter covering computing topics in plain english
My very first article hit the front page of HackerNews and I ended up close to 300 subscribers in 2 days!
I very much doubt this is repeatable, and I'm probably going to lose a lot of them after the next issue.. but for now I'm happy for the win!

Hopefully BaseClass will get big enough where 5 subscribers isn’t significant, but right now it’s a big deal 😊.
I only launched it yesterday, so I’m pretty happy.
Traffic seems to be from various sites where I posted my first edition, there’s no single source that’s sending the majority of the traffic yet.

Today I uploaded my first post.

I don’t have any subscribers yet, but I wanted to be able to link to a sample email from the front page.
I think publishing each article as a blog post as well as an email will be a good strategy. I’ve had some success with search on my personal blog, and I think it could be a good channel for BaseClass.

The first version of the landing page is online.
I'm trying to keep it simple, with just an email signup form and some text from me.
The next step is to write a sample article that I can link to on the landing page, then try and start promoting it!
