Started as a real-life example to implement as I was learning SwiftUI. I had already built several apps in 'standard' Swift (UIKit), although I chose not to distribute them because previously didn't think the demands of my day job would allow me to support them sufficiently. Recently, I've had more time available, so decided to go for it, to see if I could make it into a profitable side-gig, and eventually perhaps more.
