Bedtime Bond
Bedtime stories starring your kid's toys, in your voice.
When I was a kid my dad told me a bedtime story every single night. He'd make them up on the spot. Then my parents split and the stories stopped. Even though that was a long time ago, the memory of those nights is still one of the warmest I have with my father. Two things I took from it. My dad was unusually good at storytelling and some dads aren't, and that's fine, they just need a little help. And those bedtime moments matter more than parents realize when they're in the middle of them. My best friend had a son last year. I don't have kids of my own (yet, want them someday) so I decided to become the cool uncle who shows up with the thing that becomes a core memory. That's how Bedtime Bond happened, it's a personalized storytelling app for kids with three modes, all built around custom characters the parent defines once (favorite toy, pet, family members and so on). Those characters then star in everything. 1. **Educational stories.** Kid asks "why is the sky blue?" The app generates an illustrated, narrated story that actually answers it. Correctly. Starring their stuffed elephant. 2. **Bedtime story-circle tales.** Kid-as-hero arcs (kindness, courage, friendship) structured with Dan Harmon's story circle so they feel like real stories, not LLM mush. 3. **"Where's Waldo" search-and-find cartoons.** Their custom characters hidden in busy scenes. Screen time that's actually a game. Voice cloning in the parent's voice from a 30-second sample. Coloring pages print out for screen-free nights. I'd really appreciate if anyone wants to give it a go, view an actual sample story (no signup) and share some feedback: https://bedtime.bond/p/bedtime-bond/starlit-train-to-dreamland Free tier exists. First story is on me if anyone wants to try with their kid's actual toy. Drop a comment and I'll watch for it! Few things I'd love feedback on: 1. Do three modes feel like depth or scope creep? 2. Story creation has been called overwhelming twice. Simplified twice. Still too much? 3. Pricing. $0/$9/$24 monthly. Leaving money on the table or scaring people off? 4. Promo-clip, what do you think about style and format? https://youtube.com/shorts/DAz5v4tFXq8Stack: React + Vite, Expo for mobile (in progress), Supabase, Lemon Squeezy, Fish Audio for narration. Stage: ~20 users, 3 paying. Pre-PMF. Bootstrap.
About
My dad told me a bedtime story every night. Then my parents split and the stories stopped. Decades later that's still my warmest memory of him. I'm building this so those moments don't end even when families change.
