BeeTrendy
Latest trending topics from the internet in a newsletter
This time I decided to show some patience and not launch the 2nd day after the website was live. I waited, collected feedback, made improvements and then decided on today as the launch day.
However, as fate would have it, I lost internet connectivity and couldn't be active to promote/share it everywhere. Already missed out on the opportunity I guess.
Nevertheless - here's the link : https://www.producthunt.com/posts/beetrendy-daily
Do support if you have a few minutes π
Was a difficult decision to make.
2 main reasons behind this:
-
Prevent overuse of service: had almost already started with few users having more than 5-10 emails / day. It's somewhat part of the fun of the customization possibilities available so it is something I expected, but the costs to keep up with that at scale, can be a lot.
-
Cover costs: mostly hosting, email & analytics. BeeTrendyhttps://beetrendydaily.com) isn't the only side project and keeping it free was a fun test but I guess I know what to expect now. It's a pivot that was necessary, just didn't think I would be doing it so quick.
The free tier limits users to creating 1 newsletter, with all other customizations possible as per their liking (time, day, sources)
The paid tier, SuperBee, costs $5/month and has no limits at all.
Can only wait and see how this goes. What do you think about it?
Here's more about what's been happening in detail if you're interested π

I know it's a small milestone, but I'm still pretty excited!
I haven't put too much effort into marketing it yet, shared it a few times on Reddit and shared a couple of updates here - but that's about it.
10 days, 100+ subscribers - feeling good π
Thank you, if you are one of them ππ»

Congratulations! I just launched my newsletter last Friday and reached 15 subs by now. I'd love to reach 100+ subs in 10 days!! What would you advise me to do to reach this? :) FYI it's a newsletter on business ideas and I launched it on indie hackers and Twitter (I almost don't have any following on Twitter though).

I think I got my first 20 from all over the place! Majority of the subs came from Reddit. A post kind of did real good for me. Almost 120 subscribers from 400 visitors to the page. Not sure if that's a good conversion rate (30%) but I'll take it π
I guess what's really important is that the overall feedback has been really good for BeeTrendy so far.

Your site wonβt load for me - looks like an SSL cert problem:

It opened fine for me just now. Try with the https?

This was an error on mobile, works fine from my desktop for whatever reason (and it was on HTTPS otherwise wouldn't have gotten the cert error)

Live trends from all our sources (Google, YouTube, Twitter, Spotify, IMDb, Reddit, HN) are now available to see directly on the website without having to sign up for the newsletter.
I thought about it for a while. Might cause fewer sign ups if they can just see everything on the page, but then really did want to make everything available easily too, so went ahead and did it anyways π

Cool product Rajat! I spent a long time in the publishing world and I can imagine this being super useful for web-based writers. Is that the kind of person you go after? Or is it more broad?

Hey thanks!!
Yes, definitely one of the target groups. Bloggers, social media folks, digital marketing folks, and similar...
But I'm pretty sure there are the 'curious folks' like me who simply likes to know these kinda stuff π
-
Quite a few updates made to BeeTrendy already - and the best part? It all came from user requests! This means people are using it π
Here is a brief about what's new:
- Added Spotify as a new source option
- Added the option of editing newsletters
- Added ability to configure a limit for the # of trends to send (default 10)
Quite a bit more small UI/UX changes throughout, but nothing worth mentioning as such.
On to the next set of improvements π

Sort of. What's currently live is more than an MVP - it's prime time ready.
I'm just a bit more nervous than usual with this one. I don't want to misstep any execution steps so feeling a little hesitant in promoting it with full force.
About
Keeping up with everything trending on soo many websites on the internet can be tough. I'm personally someone that enjoys reading just the briefs about what's going on. This is the perfect tool to achieve just that.
