September 16, 2026 I got tired of retyping my resume into job portals, so I built Best JobFinder

Hey Indie Hackers 👋

A while ago I spent weeks job hunting. Most of that time wasn't spent on interviews. It went to switching between job boards and typing the same answers into long application forms, one portal after another. Every Workday form wanted my work history again. Every posting deserved a tailored resume, and after the fifth one I stopped tailoring.

So I built Best JobFinder (https://bestjobfinder.net): one app for everything from finding a job to getting an offer.

What it does

  • Finds jobs from 18 sources (LinkedIn, Indeed, Dice, Wellfound, Greenhouse, RemoteOK, WeWorkRemotely and more), removes duplicates, and shows them in one list
  • Scores every job against your skills, which you weight yourself, so you know which roles are worth your time
  • Tailors your CV and cover letter to each posting, and shows ATS keyword analysis and missing skills before you approve anything
  • Auto-fills application forms on Workday, Greenhouse, LinkedIn Easy Apply and others, with a live overlay you can pause and an audit log of every field it fills
  • Tracks applications on a Kanban board that updates from your inbox (confirmations and rejections)
  • Helps you prepare for interviews with an AI career coach

It runs as a web app, a Chrome extension, and a desktop app for Windows and macOS. The desktop app keeps your data on your machine, and I never store your job-site passwords.

Where I am now: it's live with a 3-day free trial and paid plans after that. I'm bootstrapped and working on it full-time.

I'd love your feedback on:

  1. Does the landing page make it clear what the product does? https://bestjobfinder.net
  2. Is "auto-apply" appealing to you, or does it sound risky? I built configurable rules (minimum match score, auto-submit per platform) to keep it from turning into spray-and-pray.
  3. What has worked for you when marketing a B2C tool where users leave once they succeed (they get hired)?

Thanks for reading. I'm happy to answer anything about how it's built.

The auto-apply feature is probably the biggest trust hurdle. Have real users actually let Best JobFinder submit applications for them, and what made them comfortable doing it?

About

After spending weeks on searching for jobs on job boards and filling similar questions in long forms in different job boards, i decided a platform to help job seekers in their journey.
