Well, we're thrilled to see 1000+ websites already using BetterLinks, we couldn't be more grateful to our beloved users who continuously helped by sharing their salient feedback to improve the plugin. And we listened to their idea, maximized the capability to make it a perfect fit for the affiliate marketers to simple users who just need to manage some short links without any complex documentation or external services. Within 4 months of the MVP launch, while we're still completing the final product, we got 500+ users actively using BetterLinks on their website to manage their links. It's a huge motivation for us to observing BetterLinks serving other's purposes well already. We planned the internal roadmap by then and started heavy development and testing to cover more important features.

It took 6 weeks, but I'm finally done building the minimum viable product for BetterLinks. I worked directly with the programmer, and we coded the whole thing in a very different way avoiding database queries for every redirect or link visit. In hindsight, there were a few features I built that probably could've waited until later. But I'm excited to start talking to customers and see what they think about the product so far! We needed a better self-hosted Link shortening and management tool for our own preferably within WordPress that doesn't compromise the site's performance. We tried using the existing solution for years but they didn't serve the purpose well because of poor site performance (DB query in every link visit to check) and also lacks the features we needed. So wanted to build our own with modern technology that doesn't compromise site speed.
