April 6, 2020 Integrated sponsored jobs via the Talroo API

We've integrated sponsored jobs on company profile pages. We think this will add more value for our users as they are comparing companies. We plan on rolling out a more comprehensive job searching feature over the next few weeks. This is also going to act as an additional source of revenue.

After building an initial version of the app, I decided to partner up with my co-founder, Hab, who is very passionate about the idea as well. We will be working on building an initial version of the app over the next few months. One of our biggest challenges at the moment is collecting data.

May 2, 2017 How I came up with the idea

While making a career switch from a role in finance to software development, I noticed a growing need in the market. During several interviews, I realized tech companies used employee benefits as a recruitment tool – touting their compensation packages over others.’

While it was easy to find salary, bonus, or commission information for potential employers before my interviews, most companies only listed general benefits information (401K, paid time off, flexible schedules) on their websites. However, the details I needed to make an informed decision or accept a job offer were missing. I wanted one destination where I could see and compare employee benefits in detail before taking an interview or applying for a job at a company.

I decided to create Beyond Salary a one-stop destination that allows job seekers to find employers based on benefits package information.

Beyond Salary illuminates the details before the interview process begins. An applicant looking to start a family or one with a pre-existing condition can avoid asking a recruiter about parental leave, or insurance premiums – preventing biases in the hiring process.

The Beyond Salary app puts the power back into the employee’s hands. We strive to educate our users about the impact of employee benefits on their overall job satisfaction, and we encourage applicants to look “beyond salary” when considering a new role.

About

I was looking for a one stop destination to be able to find and compare companies based on their employee benefits. Most job search sites only offer a quick summary or user generated content with no way to filter.
