BillingHub
Invoicing billed by the invoice, not by the month
I build BillingHub, an invoicing tool for people who do not invoice every month.
The thing that annoyed me about every tool I tried: the bill arrives whether or not you sent anything. A contractor who invoices twice in March and not at all in April pays the same both months. Several tools also cap how many clients you may keep unless you move up a tier, which has nothing to do with how much software you actually used.
So BillingHub charges per issued invoice. You buy a pack of credits once, one credit is spent when an invoice is issued, and drafts, estimates and quotes cost nothing. Credits do not expire and packs do not renew. There is one yearly plan for people who prefer a flat rate, and it is the only recurring thing on the price list.
The part I did not expect: pricing this way made the free tools obvious. The invoice generator needs no account and prints no watermark, because a document made there costs me nothing to produce. It is now the main way people find the product.
Happy to answer anything about the pricing model or how it is holding up.
About
Most invoicing tools bill you every month whether or not you send anything. BillingHub sells credits instead: one credit per issued invoice, drafts and quotes free, credits never expire, packs never renew.
