December 3, 2022 Add notes to Twitter bookmarks

Shipped a new feature which will let you add personal notes to every one of you bookmarks. This could just be a simple note about why you bookmarked something, a summary of a long thread or just some links you researched that are related to the bookmark.

November 30, 2022 First paying customers!

A few days ago Birdfeeder passed the big milestone of having more than myself paying for it! The first paying customers are trusting Birdfeeder with keeping their bookmarks safe, searchable and on top of their mind by sending them a weekly email with their new Twitter bookmarks.

This is a great validation of the product...and now back to building features. 💪

November 18, 2022 Backup your Twitter Bookmarks

Currently, there's a lot of talk about how to back up your Twitter account. There's an official archiving feature of Twitter, but it doesn't seem to work anymore in the past days. I personally requested my archive a few days ago and didn't get any download link so far.

Birdfeeder automatically keeps your bookmarks backed up and safe. Give it a try!

October 25, 2022 New Onboarding!

If a user signs up to get reminders about their bookmarks, or search their bookmarks they need to set up two pieces of information.

  1. E-Mail address
  2. Date and time when they want to receive their bookmark summary

The old onboarding process just dropped the user into the dashboard view with two text fields to fill out the information.

The new onboarding is a multi-step onboarding wizard that guides the user to enter the right information.

October 10, 2022 Finally: Twitter Bookmark Search

After using it internally for a while already I'm happy to share that everyone can search through all their Twitter bookmarks now. It's a powerful full-text search, so even if you just remember a few words in a tweet it'll be able to find that for you.

Find that tweet containing "indiehacker"? We'll find all of them ✅
Want to find all tweets you bookmarked by a specific user? Of course ✅

Give it a try and let me know what you think.

September 25, 2022 Birdfeeder now has a blog

Sharing updates on the Birdfeeder development progress was always scattered over my personal Twitter account, the Birdfeeder Twitter account, IndieHackers or my personal blog.

No more!

Now we have a proper blog, which will be the main source of information: https://getbirdfeeder.com/blog

Let me know what you think!

September 13, 2022 Browsing your Twitter bookmarks, right in Birdfeeder

We just released a new feature so you can easily browse through all your Twitter bookmarks right in your Birdfeeder account. There's many ideas on how to make Birdfeeder more helpful on top of the usual "Twitter bookmarks to my inbox" use case.

July 19, 2022 Newsletter: First issue sent out

I just sent out the first issue of the Birdfeeder newsletter with a product update for a sub-set of users. A few of my users were still on the old authentication method which relied on users having a browser extension installed. This is not the case any more and just logging in will upgrade an account to the new method in the background.

I realized that users don't really log in often, as they consume Birdfeeder content in their email inbox so I exported the email addresses of the affected users and sent out a newsletter.
