Market validation platform for startups
We built a clickable prototype using Invision and conducted user testing with 5 people. We learnt that primarily the startups were most excited about the prospect of connecting with Investors. We also learnt to ensure proper workspaces are scheduled in for effective user testing!
I got the concept out there using a Wix CMS site. The main learnings from the market research were conveyed and I began collecting sign ups for the value proposition, which was "A marketplace to connect tech startups to advisors". (Aimed at early stage startups)
I got around 20 advisors to sign up and approximately 30 startups.

In the words of Steve Blank I 'got out of the building'. I began researching the market size and talking to users. After speaking to users it seemed there were several pain points, the most prevalent being finding good mentors for their business. This is something I could also relate to as I'd spoken to a few with varying degrees of success.
This concept also seemed like a fairly easy place to start in comparison to the wider vision of this super-duper SaaS Platform.

I have always been interested in business. I started my career in property as I always believe I wanted to be a property developer. After spending 5 years in the industry, I noticed that I was actually FAR more interested in tech...
I started playing around with a few tech projects, and coming from a non-technical background I found it challenging to develop the product and business model.
I then got the idea;
'An online resource which allowed startups to generate their business model and manage the ideation process'.
