I recorded my first demo video
by Boris TaneSmall win, but after one month of product development, I have a prototype that I can show to those who signed up a couple of months ago when I set out on this adventure.
It shows how the chrome extension works, the various filters and the overall dashboard layout.
I'm still talking to customers, understanding how they want to interact with their bookmark manager and iterate from there.

What have you done for search ?
One of the issues I have found with current bookmarks is search is only limited to the url and tag. I can remember bookmarking it and the subject but searching often come up short. Especially if the tag you set at the moment is generic like "news".
Great work, please open it up so we can take a look.

Hi @chrisribe!
The search works in Tiers. The entry tier can search through the page metadata (description, title, url) and the user defined notes and tags.
The second Tier search through the actual body of the page. Say you remember a phrase in the page, but it's neither in the notes, title, or description, it will surface it :).

wow @boristane I know there isn't any audio but the product looks pretty f*cking awesome great idea I'd use it. I also like the design reminds me of notion.

I am not sure yet how to best make the tech-stack public but I intend to. If you know any tool which facilitates this, please hit me up!
I built the whole thing with:
- DynamoDB
- AWS Lambda
- Vue
- Node
Trying to keep cost of operation to the absolute minimum ;)

What's awesome - I'd be able to categorise bookmarks and filter them using tags. I like the feature that I could set the time to archive ones that irrelevant in the future. Clean looking dashboard is awesome.
Nothing is boring and confusing.

Did you edit the screen recording at all to eliminate pauses or mistakes? Asking because I'm about to make a similar demo soon and wondering what my editing process should be.

Hi @daveroma, no I didn't do any editing. I just made a plan of the features I want to showcase and rehearsed a couple of times before recording. I want the video to have the feel of a "real" user with the app, not a pre-planned recording :)

The product looks great and comes out nicely in the video! I would echo the need for a voiceover - it's nice that it also works without though cos sometimes I don't want to turn the volume up! The UI looks smooth and looks like a product I would enjoy using, well done!

Extension looks very nice but would be good to have a voice over describing what you’re doing.

The central feature of Bkmark is that it prevents getting into bookmark hell with thousands of bookmarks that you do not need/use anymore. There are a few adjacent features that other bookmark managers do not have, such as third party integrations, public collections and weekly email digest of the links you have not visited.

On bkmark, you can set some of the links you save to never auto-archive. And for recovery, I set it to 2 weeks after the bookmark was archived. It's a timeframe I have not tested with users yet, I'll see how people interact with their bookmarks and adjust accordingly.
I have not added keyboard shortcuts yet. Thanks for the tip! It'll definitely make its way high up the product map!
