December 25, 2020 First subscriber!

1 month after monetization, one user started a monthly subscription! Ironically, the subscription was charged on Christmas day. The best gift for an indie hacker!

The first 1-year subscriber was charged after New Years Eve, which makes 2 active subscribers and $3 MRR.

November 25, 2020 Monetization!

After 5 months with the app completely free, I finally started monetizing it. With the core functionality remaining free, I had to implement satellite features that would influence users to subscribe.

Users can enjoy each feature until a limit, then they can subscribe with a 7-day free trial. In other words, users can try all the features for a while before starting a subscription.

July 26, 2020 31 DAU, 236 MAU

1 month after a soft launch, the app organically reached a peak of 31 people using the app In a single day. In the month of July, 236 people used the app.

Most of them were first time users, so it doesn't mean much if the retention isn't high enough to keep them for the next months.

June 26, 2020 Released the first MVP!

After almost a year since I first designed blocos, I decided to build it during quarantine. I was pretty proud, since it took me 2 weeks, from developing to setting up the App Store and Play Store.

I decided to develop it in Flutter, since it would allow me to build for Android and iOS much quicker. At the end, I loved using Flutter and just couldn't be happier with the decision I made!

September 20, 2019 Came up with the idea!

After reading the great "100 blocks a day" on Wait But Why, I started designing what could be a time tracker app.

The final MVP ended up being a bit different from that first design, since I didn't think about some important corner cases. However, on paper it already seemed like something with potential, that would help me on my daily life.

Then I let the idea on the side for almost a year...
