3,000 newsletter subscribers

With the help of the Product Hunt launch, the subscriber base for Blogging for Devs has doubled in less than two months: from 1.5K to 3K.

Right now, 1,154 people are taking the 7-day challenge!

I know there are newsletters read by like, tens or hundreds of thousands of people, but I'm still pretty amazed that 3,000 humans have decided to subscribe.

Congrats again! Just finished reading the email on syndication and canonical URLs, really helpful for someone like me that had no clue before.

I'm thrilled to hear that, thanks for letting me know :))

I like your Newsletter and the quality of it, is definitely a reason I subscribed!

What would you say was the reason for growth prior to your product hunt launch?
    Congrats by the way.

      I think three things:

      a) the topic just really resonates with people: almost every developer has an abandoned tech blog they know they should work on to improve their career capital.

      b) people sign up via an email course. it's not just a newsletter. so the focus is really on actionable education and is outcome-oriented.

      c) i have a decent following on twitter, and got retweeted by people who helped me get in front of a really large, relevant audience.

That’s awesome. Product Hunt can really work for newsletters when the audiences align.

yeah. totally! interestingly though, i still got more subscribers from the Twitter launch back in May. just goes to show how powerful a platform twitter can be.

If you’re “good” at twitter it can be amazing. I’ve never got my act together consistently so its hot and cold for me sometimes.
