Blotter
Superpowers for your blog, powered by Twitter
I decided that given the signal I was hearing, it would be worth it to spend a few weeks building out Blotter and seeing if I could get folks to give it a try.
On Thursday, Feb 17th, I posted on Twitter that I was committed to launching in 21 days (technically 22 days since I said "21 days from tomorrow"! 😂)
Got focused on building in public, and been doing my best ever since.
Everyone says to pre-sell before you build. They make it sound easy! But guess what, it ain't. Maybe that means Blotter will never make money. But I've had a number of people reach out to me saying they'd be interested in trying out Blotter, which I think is pretty good considering how little time I've spent marketing it.

I've built useful products in the past but couldn't easily communicate with folks who might want to use that solution. So I started investigating where folks who blog and tweet hang out online.
Fortunately, they're all on Twitter and a lot of them are on Reddit and other online forums as well.
Started reading about the pain points they experience to get a sense of what kind of solution might be valuable to them.

I was working on my blog and thinking about what kind of commenting system I should use. I started to look into existing comment engines, but they all felt stale and, honestly, like each comment was a dead end.
Then I started thinking about how Twitter has done a great job of building relationships and real, authentic communication. Seemed like a great fit!

I blog and I tweet, and I'd like to get more engagement on both. Blotter makes it easier to grow my audience and increase engagement on both platforms.
