Blueprints - Visual Website Generator (Mac & Pc)
Visual Bootstrap Website Generator on Steroids
1 year ago I set a goal: first-year > $24000 profit
Now more time has passed but I have not written here on IH
at the moment, the profit is already > $27K
just not to upset the milestone here :)
Next goal: Hit $50K/year > :) ...! keep it up
(meantime, launched a new side project https://www.indiehackers.com/product/proven-ly-increase-conversions-on-your-website )
Additional licenses for Agencies/Teams have been introduced and several have already been sold.
Also, a Lifetime license has increased in price from $99 to $149 and several licenses have been sold at a new price as well.
+100 simple 1-year license has been sold
I am still behind schedule and goal of $24,000/ year passive income or $2,000 /month
But now I’m sure that I can do even more since I’m still 3 months away and the revenue is growing faster now.
I am also pleased to announce that a deal has been launched at the world's largest deals reseller MightyDeals, here is the link https://www.mightydeals.com/deal/visual-bootstrap-4-website-generator-pc-mac.html?refID=dc0586
p.s. I will be very grateful for any ideas on improving marketing and application.
and I'm still looking for new growth drivers
if anyone has kick-ass ideas here please write in the comments
🙏

to increase the base of annual subscribers, I made a promotion and sold annual subscriptions for only $9/year
It brought another +$500 / year.
Not bad, but I still can't find a good growth driver :(
Can anyone have any kickass ideas here?
I will be happy with any of your ideas, please, if you have one or more, share in the comments!
I am considering several options:
- freemium
- trial
- low cost monthly / annual subscription

Here’s my 2 cents.
- I think your marketing is heavily product focused. Which is not too bad, as your product looks great and serves a need. Though it doesn’t select for a specific type of customer.
- Market to a specific business niche. You could charge more and build a regular customer base.
- my advice would be to sell to agencies directly. Charge a monthly fee +200$ for full access. And unlimited business support etc...
- build a list of agencies and just start reaching out to them
- offer a set of free options like 15 widgets
- or limit the amount if widgets per page to show values
- or limit amount if free downloads per month.
- charge for full access.
- something like 200 dollars is nothing per month
- If it helps to save a solid amount of time for a small to midsize agency
Ok sorry for the brain dump, just a smattering of thoughts, from someone that ran 2 small agencies, 3 -8 people Over the years.
Also go read traction and use some capital to test some marketing channels toward the specific customer of your choosing.
Traction: How Any Startup Can Achieve Explosive Customer Growth https://www.amazon.com/dp/1591848369/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_SKnHDb36FEPA7
Ok actually done now :)
Hope this helps-

Well... I wouldn't recommend this book. Nothing new or helpful (my humble subjective opinion). Just listed 19 ways to market products.
Bootstraptor, I think you're actually doing a great job. Probably you just need to raise your prices :)-

Honestly your pretty correct about the no new information peice for that book. Though I think the method it’s teaches is helpful from a new founders perspective. For many (especially developer founders) marketing can be scary and hard so having some tools to help on that journey are super helpful.

Who are you talking about? Bootstraptor? You call him a scared founder? Haha :)

Great job.
I looked at the website from the profile. I wonder what kind of conversion visitors - downloads? It seems to me that it is necessary to make the button "Download" more visible. For the first time I didn't find it.
Maybe it is necessary to improve the site - to make the menu at the top, with sections and so on? Just as an idea...-
1
Hey @MaxFadeev thanks for the reply!
you are right that only 30 out of 100 visitors download demosI will try to follow your advice and see what happened

What's the best way to contact you? :)
To support the project, I created a separate site with sample templates. Now this is a separate project with free bootstrap templates.
https://www.makersthemes.com/
In total 2900+ downloads and about 40$ in commercial bundle sales, there are sales funnel built with gumroad auto email system, when user download template system send them an email with link to another freebie, it's work like a viral system. Love it...

not so bad - it's 8 months from the start of sales
but my goal is $24,000 for the first year, which results in $2,000/month
so I need + $10,000 more
I think I will achieve after updating the application
also in the fall have already signed contracts with resellers

Congratulations, that's awesome! What was the top channel of acquisition?

Congrats @Bootstraptor. These numbers I can only dream of for https://trackmylift.app ! Inspiring! 👏

honestly, I expected more from sales
however, I spent only about 4-5 months of the pure time
it's all about the customer base - this is the main value for the business -
First of all, you need to collect as many targeted subscribers as possible - emails!
also one of the secrets is email marketing - I set the highest possible price and then give a good discount and do various promotions
I also conducted surveys on the cost and features. I knew in advance that the product would be bought before the first line of the app I coded

Congrats, great results!
I wonder how you managed to create 500 blocks for your generator. Did you hire someone or created all of them on your own?
Thanks!-
1
created them my own
I am on bootstrap starting from version 2
so I am writing this code with "closed eyes"
(in addition, all blocks are adaptive/responisve by default)
at the beginning, I created in 1 month about 200 blocks
then there was the first version of the application
and started pre-sale
after that, I added more blocks
As a result, 500 blocks took about 2-3 months
then in the application, I created 150+ templates in two weeks

This is awesome, really interesting that the market wasn’t saturated with bigger website templating products. Were you confident this would generate revenue even with sites like wix and square space?
-
1
this is a completely different niche
this product is for those who want to build a quick prototype on bootstrap
first of all, I created what solved my own pain
quickly create bootstrap templates
without extra styles and with clean, readable code (as I created templates for sale on themes markets like creativemarket and themeforest , etc.. )but now I already have a lot of requests for additional functions but I'm not in a hurry
to add even one new button to the application, I first of all focus on the concept of simplicity
and secondly, will it increase product sales? if so then I am adding a new function

What exactly will the resellers use your product for if i may ask?
-
1
the main channel is the email subscribers base - I’ve been collecting for several years
also, some already buy on the recommendation of friends - those who bought earlier - it's about 15%
only about 5-10% these are facebook groups, twitter followers, and about 5-10% various app markets and resellers
I think to launch several paid channels and additional stimulation
but the more they buy, the more they recommend to friends - as the product solves the pain of customers well-
1
I also ask every satisfied client(directly by personal not mass email) to recommend the app to colleagues and friends and they do it as far as I can see
-
Now on the way to the introduction of new features
however, I had to respond to a small side project. And this one is almost ready, but the main one has been postponed, now I return to the main project. Hard coding has begun and a new milestone will be within a month.

That is amazing! Congrats!
One question, though: you have this impressive, huge, feature-rich website builder but your product page is based on Launchaco. Why is that?
Seems a bit counter-intuitive to me, it kinda goes against showcasing the power of the product itself. Not that I have a problem with it, just asking. Thanks!

As far as I understand all the other important questions - for example, how have I achieved such sales, even on a free domain, for you are extremely clear? ;)
It's simple, it's part of my product launch ideology.
If you look at all the milestones, it may become clear what I'm talking about.Perhaps you are right and it's time to launch a separate domain, now almost half a year has passed since the launch of pre-sales, and the product has matured.
But as I understand from your comment, you did not try the product itself?
So the answer is simple - for customers the value of the product is more important and much less on which domain it is sold. In this case.
I also sell through resellers where there is no link to the landing page and there is just a product description and video. The whole question of the value that they receive - and this product really helps to remove the pain - like mine and
as a result, customers trust what they see as well as the seller.
I will be glad if you have more serious questions in the future.
I plan to write a short tutorial soon on how I create and sell products.
This is my 4th bestseller for 6 years. But in any case, thanks for the comment.
I appreciate it. And perhaps you are right - now it’s time and it can increase sales with a separate domain and a page created on the product itselfBut I created many examples of pages on this builder.
You can view and download from here: https://www.makersthemes.com/Do you think this will increase sales if I take advice? :)
Or will I just spend the time I can spend on developing new features and finding new markets? But in any case, once someone paid attention to this - perhaps it is really important!
Maybe someone else will say about it, I would like to hear a few opinions here.-

Thanks for the answer!
I don't know why all this salt for my question, it was just an observation, something I found (pleasantly) surprising, that's it.
Sorry I couldn't come up with a "serious question". If you are expecting a certain type of question that you have answers to, you could write an FAQ or something.

In search of the source of the traffic, an additional resource was created with free templates that can be edited in the application. https://demo.bootstraptor.com/freebies
The resource received good traffic, including from reposts on large resources and an increase in the sales conversion of the application. Now there is an idea to make this resource with templates as a separate project. Soon there will be a post on here and PH. Hooray +100 license sold. 500 in total.

All the same, I decided to launch a special offer for subscribers and in the end I was surprised by the demand. More than 120 were sold. Of course, the discount was big, but in the end the profit was more than 3.5K in just one week. Work on the project continues
Gradually roadmap is filled with details with customers already using the product.

It was a difficult time and I wondered if I wanted to continue. But those who bought before that constantly wrote me letters with questions when I would release updates and additions and this made me realize that the product is being used and the niche is in demand.

It looks good! You know, I always wondered why these kind of tools don't export as WordPress templates... It's a bit more of work because you need to split into components, etc. but there might be a bunch of people needing that solution

This is a good question @aqui_c ! I have already received several requests for this feature and now after your question I have to think again about how I can do this.
Although now with the advent of Gutenberg, much has changed as I understood it and it will be more difficult to export as before.
But I have to check. Thanks again!

For a while, I increased the number of blocks and as a result now there were about 500 of them.
I think this is one of the most impressive collections of blocks currently on the market. I also launched some sales in the free market and received some extra from resellers so that it allowed me to continue working on the project. by that time already sold more than 200 licenses.

As Indie vendor I constantly need to create hundreds of HTML templates. I make this simple app to solve own issue - reduce a horrible routine encounter every time I launch a new website template
