Boardly
The Simplest Planning Board
We've hit 800 users this month. Not all active, but 800 signups.
What a rush? Never expect this tool to grow so quickly. I figured it'd take at least a year to get to 500. Yes, getting to the first 100 users was quick, took about a month. But it's only been two months and we've hit 800.
Hopefully it continues. We've already got some really good feedback and lots of people love the idea of the simplest planning board.
This will give us the needed push to work on the team version of that, a scrum project app called HappyStack. We're started working on it now. https://gethappystack.com
Check it out.
We've reached a great milestone, 100 Users. What a rush!!!
We've only launched about a week before this milestone and already we're seeing so much interest.
How did this happen? Honestly, I wrote an article about how we've used a new concept framework (Hotwire) and posted it on a discussion board and two subreddits (rails and ruby).
The traffic spike we got last Sunday was amazing. Got 20 users to sign up, and had to fix a few bugs.
It occurred to me that maybe it'd be a good idea to post on Product Hunt. That one move took the app from 20 users to 70 in 4 days.
Maybe Boardly was actually useful. I mean, you don't know until people try it.
Tuesday doubled our visitor numbers and we were approaching 70 users. No sure why, we didn't anything to direct the the traffic.
Since then it's been a steady stream of people visiting and trying it out.

We launched the app in beta mode. To help get initial users we wrote an article on how we used Hotwire technology to build Boardly.
Three posts on reddit and Hotwire's discussion board later, our traffic spiced. By Sunday midday we had 30 people signed up.
We launched on product hunt and by Monday end of day we had 70 users and 48 upvotes on product hunt
Clearly the idea was resonating with people. It's been only a week, and we are surprised by the success.
Hopefully more people will keep signing up and we make this a full time gig.

I've spent what seems like decades trying to find the best app to help me plan work. I didn't want things to manage task for me. I just wanted something to help me plan. That's how the concept of Boardly was born.
