Ildiko implemented some UI components last week and everything was looking so so soo sweet! The only thing bothering me was that updating our guides through input fields seemed a bit off.
It made sense for the MVP, and I was VERY militant about keeping it simple for the first release, shooting down features left and right, but as soon as I saw the editor coming together I couldn't resist anymore. These guides needed live editing!
I started fiddling with the idea of clicking on the guides and editing them basically in the preview real-time.
boardme never fails to deliver on technical problems to solve, and in this case it was the image management during LIVE edits.
It is one thing to embed images into data models during live editing when you are not particularly interested about the size of your data models. But our guides need to be lean and mean. We cannot increase the guide size with the embedded image size.
So, one thing leads to another, I just finished live editing yesterday, and also implemented support for drag and dropping images and gifs straight onto the guide, which feels amazing to use!
We're talking about releasing a video demo this weekend or early next week, so stay tuned!
