Jumpdocs.com
Startup legal in a box.
Alright - first quarter generating any revenue and we're at $2,500 MRR. I had set a goal for $5K, and felt a little disappointed we didn't get all the way there. In retrospect I think the big blocker was that our partner asked for more tech before they could send us leads, and that took some time. Also, the name change blocked me from marketing for about a month. Still - not bad - nothing to $2,500 MRR in 6mo. I can live with that.
Found out we can't use Boilerplate.legal. It wasn't protectible legally and a lot of lawyers didn't like it. So.... we changed the name to Jumpdocs.com! It was only $9.99 and we got the Trademark. As a salesman I had no idea how stressful that would be not knowing the name of the product. I'm happy where we landed though.

Co-founders met together and we planned out our first quarter. Goal = launch the product so we can make a dollar. Because we're self-funding we decided we're gonna optimize for revenue above all else. We have one partner we're building for - so we're just letting them determine the roadmap.

About
7 years ago I started my first venture-backed company. I made a bunch of stupid mistakes when it came to legal - and it cost us $150K to fix it. I want to save people the pain that I went through.
