Bold: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Change your mindset with mental health exercises
Lots of iterating! Spending more time on marketing, talking to users, learning from competitors, solving a problem that I personally faced. Each of those elements were super important. I see my road to 10k as basically just doubling down on these elements!
Mostly just continuing the process outlined in my previous updates. I have begun planning for next steps as well. Feels good to have a system that works. Morale is high and I think I have a lot of room to grow. The new book by Rob Fitzpatrick has been illuminating.

I've been optimizing my process. I have a better idea of what works and what doesn't. For example, I now know which communities are more likely to be receptive to my product. I now know which features in my product are more likely to drive retention. I have been optimizing around these learnings.

This is possible because retention is strong for the first few months. I also did a fair bit of marketing. It's looking like I will need to do both in order to maintain/increase MRR. Which scares me a bit haha. I'm going to try to keep this up for another month or two.

I made a change to prioritize content in the app. This resulted in >300% change in content consumption. Which has led to increases in revenue, WAU, store reviews etc. I did this by providing another entry point into the content ux. Maybe I can find another entry point...

Decided to focus on content. The app is just a delivery vehicle for good content. The content is primarily what people are paying for. I realized this after comparing against competitors and then validating for myself by prioritizing content in the UX.

I don't have product market fit. I do have a plan to get there though. Over the past few weeks it's become apparent that my product doesn't solve user's problem well enough. However, I have many people in my audience that I can talk to. So my plan is to have more conversations with them.

I was able to accomplish this by adding an email opt-in opportunity in my app. Actually, as part of the core experience. And i've only had about 5 people told end up unsubscribing. Pretty good ratio imo. If I could have done anything differently, I would have done this much sooner!

Half of my users who paid for my app in December, retained and paid for the app in January. Which is great, imo. I am very happy with that result. This will allow me to estimate next month's MRR. Hard to explain exactly what made this possible, just lots of iterating and building a good product that solves a well defined problem.

Over the past 8 weeks my product has an average of 12% growth in weekly recurring revenue. The reasons for this are similar to the last post that I made: my users are billed monthly and that has begun carrying over, my newsletter is growing well, and ive made good UX improvements to the app

I created Bold to help people change and improve their mindsets. I know what it's like to have a negative, anxious mindset. It's terrible and nobody deserves to suffer through that. Bold is the tool that I wish I had.
