Bolt
The easiest way to collect design feedback
It has been a longer development process than I had hoped for (thanks Coronavirus), but I finally launched Bolt! β‘
Bolt is a really simple tool to help you collect design feedback on live websites or static design files.
I built it for designers, developers, agencies and anyone who needs to quickly and easily collect clear, actionable feedback from a stakeholder or client.
I work in design and I wasn't happy with existing tools, so I built my own. I'm not 100% happy with everything yet, but I'm issuing some UI and bug fixes in the coming days and I have a really fleshed out feature roadmap :).
I kept telling myself to wait a few more days before launching so that I could build X and Y feature, but ultimately I thought it was best to just get the product in the hands of the public.
I'm building Bolt very closely with users, so if you have any feature requests, please let me know!
Thanks to IH for the awesome support as always! π
First milestone. Finally gearing up to launch usebolt.io - a platform to make collecting design feedback super easy, on both live websites and static design files.
I work with Webflow a LOT and I wanted a way for my clients to easily provide their design feedback without sending emails full of text.
I was unimpressed with existing competitors out there (either pricing, UX/UI, roadmaps and/or functionality), so I started working on Bolt about 6 months ago. It has been slow progress juggling my full-time work and building Bolt - I've broken a lot of MVP rules...
I'm now gearing up to launch a closed-beta of Bolt before going fully public. I've had a few testers try out the functionality and squash bugs, but I have a mailing list of about 130 people interested in joining an early access beta, so I plan to launch for them first.
Bolt helps you build better products by enabling you to easily collect design feedback from team members, users and project stakeholders on your live websites or design files, with one click.
I've built public/private boards. Multi-image/page boards. URL/image uploading and I'm also working on some great integrations. It's also a really clean and simple UI.
I have no idea if anyone reads these updates but I hope to share more soon :).

I'm a UX/UI designer by trade and I'm really unimpressed with existing design feedback solutions; expensive plans, clunky UIs and gaps in functionality has motivated me to build Bolt.

Congrats on the launch, great product. I was fortunate to be an alpha tester and love the simplicity. Can't wait to see how it grows
Thanks Paul, glad to have you on board
Hello Pip, I took few minutes to feature Bolt on ProductStartups. Please email me for any edits. Good luck for the product's success.

Amazing, thank you! :)
Hii Pip,
super cool idea and awesome product!
Thanks @sharlsz, appreciate it :)
Hey @pips π
Congrats on launching Bolt!
I've just signed up and had a quick go. I love the simplicity, how quick it was to set up a board (it literally took me minutes from sign up to commenting) and visually it looks great!
I was unsure how this would differ to some of the other tools I use (Figma, Marvel etc). However, I think this could be great as a way to QA development builds as you can comment on live URLs.
It would be great to allow people to post comments without signing up for an account. (I sometimes use similar tools for client feedback and would rather they didn't need to create an account to leave their comments).
Hey @austerberry,
Thanks for your feedback, that's great to hear! We have a few bug fixes / UI fixes coming this week + early next week, then we're working on our roadmap.
Before end of Dec expect to see:
β’ Guest commenting
β’ Early version of the notification system
In Jan we're going to release a full notification system, responsive views for live URLs and hopefully a couple of integrations.
Thanks once again!
Sounds great. Looking forward to seeing some of those features (the responsive views sounds interesting)!
I'll try and use Bolt in an upcoming project and let you know if I have any feedback :)
Awesome :)!
Congrats on the launch.
Fun fact: I owned http://usebolt.co/ but I forgot to renew it and someone else got it.
Now I own https://www.sendbolt.co/ :)
That IS a fun fact! I tried many variations, but ultimately settled on this one. Thanks for your comment!
Great tool! good job on the launch
Thank you!
