A modern bookmark manager that handles both favorites & tabs
After months developing new features and fixing bug on old ones, we reached a pivotal milestone: it was ready for GA release!
The time had come to unleash Booksmart to the world. With immense fear and excitement, we made our extension available to the public in the Chrome Store.
After working on a few projects together, I got buy-in from an experienced developer and so our team was complete!
We kickstarted by releasing an MVP to a select group of early adopters: friends, coworkers and colleagues, people interested and available to provide lots of feedback throughout countless sessions.
This was only the first step in a journey of builds, tests, rebuilds... Again and again, until we got something stable and easy to use.
I rolled up my sleeves and relied on the #nocode I was used to, with Webflow, Airtable, and the automation magic of Zapier, I created a makeshift solution that not only helped me better understand the problem but also serve as a tempting lure to rally like-minded individuals to my cause.
This prototype was my testing ground, my sandbox of possibilities. It was the first step on a journey that would ultimately transform the way we manage our bookmarks.
I'm working in a small but driven team, and the daily grind of managing numerous projects had me feeling like a digital detective on an epic quest for scattered links, documents, assets, and the ever-elusive staging and production URLs.
Did they shoot that over Slack, or was it hidden in the crevices of Trello boards? In anticipation, I'd often end up with more tabs open than I could reasonably handle, and I couldn't help but feel like my web browser was on the brink of an epic meltdown!
That's when it hit me: –Who's going to step up and rescue us from this tab mayhem? 🚀
