I've been working on BORSCH.AI — a UK business intelligence platform that aggregates data from 53 government sources (Companies House, Land Registry, FCA, HMRC, ICO, sanctions lists, ICIJ offshore databases, and more) covering 5.9 million UK companies with 50 million+ data signals.
The problem: researching a UK company means manually checking dozens of separate government registers. A single due diligence check can take hours.
What we built:
- Cross-references all 75+ sources in seconds
- 5-dimension AI risk scoring (Financial Health, Compliance, Governance, Network Risk, Operations)
- Director network analysis across 16.4M identities and 24.5M company-director links
- AI chat — ask questions like "Show active companies with disqualified directors and sanctions flags"
- REST API with 84 endpoints
Some interesting findings from our data:
- 4 active UK companies simultaneously have a disqualified director AND appear on UK sanctions lists
- One disqualified director is linked to 153 companies
- HMRC AML-supervised businesses run by disqualified directors
