Throughout January, I developed the backend for usage-based billing, a custom solution coded from the ground up. Close to the end of the month, the billing system is ready. The first payment goes through on the 25th.
By the end of the month, four of my customers converted to the new paid version.
Lesson learned: Start charging earlier.
