May 9, 2026 After 8 years of trying most timer apps and being disappointed, I finally built one

I've been doing CrossFit for 8 years and tried most timer apps along the way. Most are bloated — they try to be workout planners, diet trackers, and social feeds all at once. I always felt underserved for such a simple need: a timer like the ones bolted to a box wall, but on my phone.

So I built one: https://boxclock.app

Out now on iPhone and iPad. Free, with a $4.99 one-time premium unlock. No subscription. No ads. No workouts. No diet plans. Just a timer.

v2.0 just shipped, with improved Live Activities and timer beeps that don't fight your music or podcast apps.

Happy to answer anything about the build — the pricing call (one-time vs. subscription), the LED-on-black design discipline, or how the App Store reviews have shaped it.
