Podvine
A podcast app & hosting platform
So you share a Spotify link but your listeners use Apple podcasts.. Well why not share a smartlink and make sure that you audience always find the right podcast player! This way your audience never has to search for your podcast on other apps!
We already have 70 podcasts on the platform within 5 days of launching!
- 100% free podcast hosting
- Unlimited podcasts and episodes
- Engage with your audience
- Unparalleled Analytics
- Get your podcast on Apple podcasts, Spotify or any other player
And so much more!
It's been a few moths brabble.fm is live but over the last couple of weeks 200 hosts joined the platform and claimed their podcast page!
And some other numbers!
- 5.911 users ๐งโ๐คโ๐ง
- 132 Daily active users โ๏ธ
- 90.000 pages index in Google ๐
- 150 visitors/day from Google ๐ฏ
- 1800 Followers on twitter ๐
We see more and more podcast hosts chatting with their audience and we are working hard on completing podcast hosting!
It's a marathon not a sprint ๐ช
Finally it is done, I redesigned https://brabble.fm and the iOS app! It was a few months of work but it is looking great.
New features:
๐ Darkmode
๐ฎ Collections
๐ฌlive chat with hosts
๐จWeekly best podcasts newsletter
And much more!
The website and app are both build with React/React native. For the backend I am using: NodeJS/Kubernetes/Postgres/Redis/Elastic Search
Normally I would not recommend Kubernetes for most startups (especially if you are flying solo!) But for Brabble I have to manage 300.000 rss feeds and keep them in sync and a few more cronjobs + scaling turned out to be important even early.

With some help from Nathan (Owner of pod.link) I setup linking to your podcast form Brabble! It was a bit of a pain because podcast guid are not always unique so I had todo some magic. But it seems like it works!
For now I have to contact a lot of podcasters and ask for a link to Brabble. This is hard because I don't have a large user base :( But we give something back!
Link your podcast to Brabble and in return you are featured on the Apps home page!

Finally after a lot of work, we are live in the app store! It doesn't feel like a huge milestone because we've been testing on testflight for a few weeks now and everything seems to work! Still some small bugs like sizing on small devices and also some

I love it! love your design and clean UI.
Would you mind sharing how are you going to make money here?-

It's early to say exactly but I have multiple paths: Ads (profit share with hosts), the good thing is because I would control the player and the hosting I could give more targeted ads, so no more random useless ads.
What I find more interesting is premium podcasts, giving hosts the ability to create a premium subscription (let's say 1.99/month) and have that along side their existing podcast.
The reason I don't want to charge for hosting is because I want to have skin in the game and make hosts succeed. If they get more plays brabble makes more money.

I launched 4 days ago and so far already have 50 beta testers, this might not sound like a lot but everything came from word of mouth no social posting or anything.
What is even more important 85% off the users are actually using Brabble! The fact that beta testers are ok with having bugs and still keep using it is a big indicator I am on the right track for now.
For now I am working on a lot of feature requests and bug reports!
If you are on iOS and wand to start testing feel free to join the beta program!
