I was a backend engineer, and every workday, I faced a daily nemesis: the JSON payload. It was never clean. It was always a sprawling, poorly-formatted beast that crashed my archaic, cluttered JSON tool every third time I pasted a large API response. I was tired of the visual noise and the constant struggle. Debugging a nasty string literal error one Tuesday, I finally snapped. "This tool is stuck in the past! It only views. It doesn't help!"
I decided to build the solution myself.
I spent the next few weekends channeling my frustration into code. I designed BracketView to be a platform that was clean, fast, and, most importantly, smart. I started with a sanctuary: a clean, performance-optimized viewer that made navigating and formatting JSON elegant and intuitive.
But I knew I needed to go further. My data wasn't just messy; it was often broken or wrong. So, I focused on adding powerful solutions:
I built the "Fix JSON" wizard, using both local and AI-powered algorithms to automatically detect and repair common syntax errors, saving hours of manual hunting.
I created the Schema Validation tab, allowing me to instantly load a schema and validate my data, clearly flagging issues like receiving a number when a string was expected.
I developed the Difference tool, making side-by-side comparison of complex payloads simple by highlighting every single change.
Finally, I moved beyond text with Graph/Visualization features, letting me see the structure and relationships in my data, not just the code.
BracketView stopped being just a viewer; it became the advanced data cockpit I always needed. I was no longer tired—I was productive. I had built the tool that finally helped me, and now others, stop viewing and start solving.
About
Most existing JSON viewer tools are cluttered with annoying ads, offer cramped viewing spaces, suffer from poor readability, and can be sluggish when dealing with large files. That's why I built BracketView.
