It happened gradually. I was trying and experimenting with stuff, but mostly, I happened to be gravitating towards the idea of graphs or mind maps if you prefer. Small pieces and improvements of design like, clean slate canvas, simple connections between words, progressive revelation on scrolling were coming to me over years of work.

As a child I loved illustrated encyclopedias and I dreamed of knowing and learning and reading it all. Then I realized there's a lot of duplication in the books and I need just specific pieces of knowledge in order to understand concepts.

I viewed 'linear writing' as very inefficient.
I was also growing disappointed seeing less and less images in the books.

I wanted to study faster and more efficiently.
