BrainMe
Build your community on messaging applications
Hey everyone!
Welcome to our weekly update building agents (or what we called second brains). We're excited to share our progress with you!
What’s up this week?
Ryan roasted Max B for his tweet
We worked on 2 new brains: Shaan Puri & Ryan Hoover. Here’s the result for Shaan Puri & Ryan Hoover. We are in contact with them. We’ll keep you posted as soon as they take control of their SecondBrain.
We’re looking for help to reach Elevenlabs. We think the experience of SecondBrain is way deeper with voice. Unfortunately, ElevenLabs is too expensive and we can’t scale with it unless they unlock a grant for us or we find another service. Can you give MaxG’s voice on Twitter here 🔥
MaxG found an advisor to help us with everything coding wise. We already updated our database, added amplitude tracking, etc. Stay tuned we’re going to ship a lot going forward.
We applied for HF0 a.k.a the monastery for hackers. It's a program that gives builders everything they need to focus on shipping for 12 weeks (timing is everything guys). The program is based in SF and was created by Dave Font.
We signed up for LangSmith 🔗🦜 waitlist. Can’t wait to try it!
We forked A16z Companion App Repo and started to play with it! We love it. Not quite for us yet, but it’s going in the right direction?
SecondBrain Data & Feedback
Tristan with Max G at Felicità in Paris
This week we sat down with Tristan, one of Farza’s SecondBrain user. See what he thinks of the experience overall:
My break-down experience with my level of satisfaction:
6/5 "wow": I was very happy with the introductory audio message and the little picture.
4/5: I was immediately sad afterwards for only having text, I thought it would systematically respond to me in audio and I found that cool. But well, it's always nice to start a chat with an AI so I was happy. Plus, the language seemed really adapted to Farza.
1/5: quite quickly it did not process two or three quite simple requests, there I was very disappointed.
4/5: I discovered by chance that it supported audio (perhaps it could have invited me to send one?). And I found that super cool.
2/5: for a Farza, it was not very curious ^^ I asked a question, it gave me an answer. More like a search engine than like someone who tries to help me. Ideally, it would regularly show me that it wants to know more at the end of its responses by asking me another question.
Got a lot of work to do right now. We’re feeling better than ever.
Farza’s Second Brain has:
21 users
569 messages were exchanged

P.s. If you’re down for sharing your feedback, let’s DM me on Twitter or hang out on our Discord server
That’s all folks for this update. See ya next week!
Hey,
Just for context, you're reading our very 1st Secondbrain weekly update. We think it's a good idea to keep you updated about our progress so far, so a weekly update fits perfectly. The format will be short and straightforward, so it won't waste your time.
Now, you know. Ok, let's break down our week:
-
First things first, we applied for the AI Grant -- it's like an investment for AI-focused companies. It's been created by Nat Friedman and Daniel Gross. Here's our video application.
-
Max B explored the way to upload documents into Langchain, more in his tweet.
-
I went back to coding -- such a pleasure tbh. Hopefully, Chatgpt was near to help me tho.
-
We released Farza's 2nd brain in close alpha. It now includes context about Farza, the founder of Buildspace, and it can receive text and voice. Btw, we're still waiting for your feedback! If you want to give it a try: https://t.me/farza2ndbrain_bot
And that's it.
I told you, we want to keep it very short and straightforward to not bother you and keep you updated about the essentials.
(here's our setup to apply for grants and programs. Wdyt about it?)
For feedback, jam ideas or anything hit reply anytime.
See you next week!

What an exciting and wild ride it has been in these first few days of building SecondBrain! 🧠
When Max and I first joined BuildSpace for their third cohort, we were coming off an exploration into Web3 and NFTs, having built a mobile app to showcase your NFT collectibles like Snapchat for blockchain.
We were super jazzed about digital identities and avatars, and when ChatGPT 3.5 exploded onto the scene, we had a lightbulb moment - what if you could give your personality to your own avatar? Mind officially blown! 💡
We realized the AR/VR component would be tricky to tackle, so we decided to focus fully on digitizing one's brain and personality. After joining BuildSpace in April and partnering up with an incredible engineer, we got back into coding ourselves.
Through early iterations and chatting with creators, we realized there was an opportunity to help them build engaged communities on messaging platforms. And so, BrainMe was born! BrainMe summarizes your newsletter content and delivers it in bite-sized bits to your audience on Telegram, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and more.
It's been an awesome and crazy learning experience these first few days - filled with passion, promise as well as twists and turns. But we're embracing it all! I can't wait to see where this neon-lit journey takes us next on the road to bringing SecondBrain to life! 🚀✨
