I make brass (gold or patinaed), aluminum (shiny silver) and gilded wood nameplates. Originally started doing this for my own art collection but then (since I am a programmer) decided to make a small side business of it.
The site is now fully functional and the designer part works perfectly. I am very much open to criticism and suggestions.

Starting with something you genuinely wanted for yourself usually leads to a more thoughtful product.
I'm curious whether your customers end up talking more about the craftsmanship or the customization experience. That's an interesting signal in itself.
