Breeze

🔎 Breeze is a search engine. We've been releasing topic searches since October and planned to release a universal search engine this year. Turns out we meant this month, with our final nudge to get on top of it being Ukraine's inspirational resistance

🚀 take it for a spin at https://breezethat.com!

🎸 We index ~100 guitar tab sites & 100M+ song tabs!

🚀 Our most significant step forward this launch was adding bots for key steps to semi-automate our workflow and turn what was days to build a search engine into a few hours for many topics!

🎢 Breeze is currently hosted on Google Sites -- it's easy, free, and low-code, which made it possible to launch our costume search engine on Product Hunt, re: an earlier milestone below (🔽).

🧪We've been experimenting with Jamstack combos these past few months, with riffs on MkDocs on netlify being our goto.

🚀 We weren't super happy with that stack and went back to the drawing board for Breeze; after retesting old combos and adding some new combos, we ultimately went with Eleventy (11ty) stored on Github and pushed to Cloudflare pages.

🙋‍♂️ You can get a sneak peek with one of our staging builds which includes some upcoming topic searches at https://cbdd685a.breeze-www.pages.dev/

📜 P.S. YMMV, e.g., costume search is live, however, guitar tab search is a placeholder card as we wrap up that portion of code.

🎃 Halloween was around the corner along with holiday and New Year's so we built costume search as our first topic search engine!

👻 This costume search is a Google Custom Search Engine (CSE) which includes about 200 stores that sell costumes!

🙋‍♂️ Enjoy, share & vote!

✨ Thanks!

🎢 Creating brand and domain names is hard work no matter how many times you've done it -- for me, many times and counting!

🔥 It's especially hard when you want to nail it, and that was especially true for our topic search engine.

🚀 We ultimately chose Breeze as our brand, @HeyBreezeThat for most social channels and BreezeThat as our domain, which flows well with search -- hey, breeze that!

🙋‍♂️ Check it out, re: https://breezethat.com.
