Briefly
Your personalized AI morning news brief
I kept running into the same problem every morning. I'd spend way too long trying to figure out what actually mattered across AI, startups, and markets. Every newsletter I tried sent the same thing to everyone. Morning Brew doesn't know I care about venture capital and biotech more than retail earnings. 1440 doesn't know I track Anthropic specifically.
So I built Briefly. You pick your topics and any specific companies or keywords you want tracked. Every morning it scans 80+ sources, scores articles by how relevant they are to you, and uses Claude AI to write a "why this matters to you" for each story. Lands in your inbox by 7am.
8 subscribers so far. The product works, emails go out daily, and the personalization actually changes what you get compared to a generic digest.
Would love honest feedback from this community. What would make you open it every morning? What's missing? What would make you pay for it down the road?
About
I'd spend 30+ minutes every morning trying to piece together what was actually happening in AI, startups, and markets. Every newsletter I tried sent the same thing to everyone regardless of what you actually care about.

This is a useful idea, but I think the paid version probably needs a sharper promise than “personalized AI news.”
The reason someone opens this every morning is not just because the stories match their topics. It is because Briefly helps them notice something they would have missed before it becomes obvious to everyone else.
For example, “AI, startups, and markets” is broad. A stronger wedge might be one specific reader first: founders tracking competitors, investors tracking sectors, operators tracking customer/market shifts, or job seekers tracking companies before they hire.
The “why this matters to you” section is the strongest part. I’d make that the product, not just a feature.
The question I’d pressure-test is:
Who feels real pain if they miss the right story for 24 hours?
That person is much closer to paying than a general reader who just wants a better digest.
Happy to put a tighter version in writing if useful. There’s probably a clean breakdown here around target reader, open-rate hook, paid plan angle, and what the first 50 subscribers should look like.
