October 9, 2019 Hit 2,500 subscribers, launched on Product Hunt!

I've posted Brisk Voyage to a few travel subreddits over the past few weeks, and got around 2,000 new subscribers, bringing the total to 2,500! I think there is a more niche audience for this type of "travel hacking" email list, so it fits well in subreddits such as /r/shoestring and /r/travelhacks.

After posting to a few subreddits and getting positive feedback, I decided it's time to launch to Product Hunt. Even though Product Hunt has a more general audience, I think it could be useful to some people there. Not many upvotes so far, but it's worth a shot, I figure.

I'm thinking that it's smarter to post to Product Hunt before adding some sort of premium/revenue generating feature? Because then the product is more simple and people can more easily understand it. Later, I can try to convert those users to the paid features.

August 25, 2019 Finished the MVP

Over the past few months, I've been using bits of my free time to put together a minimum viable product that solves a personal issue of mine.

If I had a free weekend coming up, I wanted a way to know about good deals on last-minute weekend trips. For example, if I have the weekend free and a trip to Miami (round-trip flight + a hotel for 2 nights) is 50% off, I'd love to know about that!

Every week, a script looks through Google Flights for flights from your city to ~150 vacation destinations in the US, and Google Hotels for hotels at that locations. The total price of each vacation is added up, and the best deals are sent to you on Tuesday.

Here it is: https://briskvoyage.com/

Let me know what you think - would you use this product as-is?

How do you think I should "launch"? My initial instinct is to post it on some travel subreddits, and tell people they can comment their city and I'll give them a discount trip for the upcoming weekend. That way I can provide value (as recommended here https://marketingexamples.com/content/self-promote-on-reddit). Any other things you would recommend?

Looks nice, it's like a newsletter of best deal trips.
How are you going to monetize it? Any thoughts?

Thanks! I'm thinking I can have a paid version that offers more deals, or deals a day early or something. Still thinking about this.
