Personal finance software so easy it seems sorcery

March 8, 2021 I decided to stop developing this project.

After some tests and a MVP for me I decided it does not worth to keep this as the offer out there is cheap and has a lot of features, this may be re-visited later but for now is on hold. I'll keep using it for myself but will stop the service available publicly.

April 20, 2020 I found a good name: Budgery

I started the search for a name, several options were already took like:

  • budgety
  • getbudge
  • openPMF ( I'm thinking of having an open sourced version )
  • ... several others

But then I realized that my most important motivation is "ease-of-use" so I explored combinations of "budget", "easy", "fácil", "simple" for example; again, everything was already taken.

But then the bulb lighted up and came up with: as easy as magic?. I don't think magic is easy (if possible) but it looks easy just few words or wave the wand and that's it. Personal finances should be like that, few clicks here and there and you are done.

March 13, 2020 Definitely I need an app for my family finances

When planning my family finances in order to be prepared for COVID-19 impact I realized that a spreadsheet wasn't too friendly to keep it updated with data from bank statements and manual input. So my first though was: "It's time to get a Personal Finance Software", started by a google search, signed up into few ones, but nothing was easy and could integrate with my bank.
Tried a month of a paid service but wasn't as good as I expected. But with that experience I realized I have pretty good ideas for a side project, and keep track of my finances.

About

I'm too lazy to keeping my personal finance spreadsheet up to date, the available software out there are: 1. Too expensive, 2. Privacy doubtful. So I want to start my own software focus on my needs.
