Launched V2

Version 2 is just fancy for a redesign. But, behind the scenes it's a lot more.

I switched from Wix to Wordpress. I had great things to say about Wix in the beginning -- then quickly realized how much I needed to get away.

Very happy with the new design, lots more opportunities to grow the website using Wordpress. Just the new navigation hierarchy has me in love with the potential.

Also made a huge mistake in changing the website without alerting my audience. I became too eager to put the website live, that I hadn't finish migrating all the content. Silly me forgot people actually follow my meal plans and I woke up to emails asking where the recipes went... oops. Good thing I have everything saved!

It's looking good! And I was surprised you were able to snag that as a .com. What's your secret?

Been following you from the start :)

    A few questions:

    1. What are your plans with monetisation?
    2. How do you currently talk to users/customers?
    3. What are your plans with user acquisition (and I guess building traffic to the site)?

Btw I've also just signed up on Patreon to support you (1 day of free food per month, yay! ;D)

      AH! Thank you :)

      1. Monetization will be a membership program offering specialty meal plans. I'm working on Keto-focused meal plans and recipes right now - planning to roll them out before August is over! I have a separate email list of about 70 people interested in receiving Keto content, so hoping a few people join.
So the content will be on my website, but behind a paywall.

      2. Communication is mostly through a weekly newsletter that updates people with new content on the website + a free weekly meal plan (not targeted towards a particular diet, just eating cheaply). My Instagram for BMP also seems to get some engagement, so I use it every now and then too.

      3. This is the tough one... Once I get the membership live (that's my priority right now), I want to start building backlinks with other food bloggers or those in that specialty diet network. I also want to experiment with Pinterest - I see a lot of people in the food niche getting huge traffic from there.

Any and all advice is welcome!

Edit: The membership I'm thinking will be $5/mo to join - I still am in the budget niche after all.

"I had great things to say about Wix in the beginning -- then quickly realized how much I needed to get away." - This line was amazing.

    Congrats on the V2!

It's amazing, the capabilities of Wordpress!

All the damage has been fixed now, but great advice about the redirects. This part just completely went over my head. I had only thought about the main home page, rather than the internal links! Lessons learned :)
