Budibase
A new and better way to build custom software
We've been waiting a long time to launch out of beta and welcome people to Budibase! I'm excited, and a little emotional, that day is here.
We began this journey two years ago, and it all started with a simple problem:
Creating business apps was time-consuming, repetitive, and … boring.
Our promise to the world was to build Budibase - a low-code platform that people enjoyed using, was open-source, and allowed users to build beautiful business apps in minutes, with or without coding.
Today, I am proud to announce, we’ve delivered on our promise - a low-code platform that allows you to build beautiful business apps in minutes. In all honesty, this is one of the proudest moments in my life. With the addition of the cloud platform, templates, and JavaScript support, and along with our SQL connectors, internal database, powerful design blocks, multi-step forms, automations, custom theming, Kubernetes + Docker support, we think we have finally done it – Budibase is now truly the "low-code platform you’ll enjoy using".
We have all kinds of companies who trust Budibase, from larger customers like Google, Microsoft, and Procter & Gamble, to smaller companies around the world. Today, you can get started with Budibase for free and see why we’re the low code platform you’ll enjoy using.
Thank you to all the buddies out there who have helped us along this incredible journey - this is just the beginning 🚀.
After 9 months of interacting with online communities, writing value driven blog posts, and SEO, we have reached 2000 prelaunch signups.
Important Update:
In October, we plan on pushing Budibase to Alpha. At the beginning of Alpha, Budibase will not be production ready. But at the end of Alpha, it will be.
Alpha will take place within a controlled environment where we will on-board 4 new users per week until we get to 20/30. We will then work with this group to ensure Budibase is solving their problems and we are happy to move into Beta.

We accomplished 1000 prelaunch signups by SEO (long tail content), and posting and helping people on Indie Hackers & Facebook Groups.
Our landing page converts at 9%.
We plan to release Alpha in Oct.

That's great, just don't forget people have a short memory and you need to launch as soon as possible if you want to convert a high amount of those 1000 signups.

Converting will be tough, but we'll give it our best shot. We would be more than happy to convert 10% in the first month. Fingers crossed.

Good job. I'm in the process of going over @mijustin's marketing course and Podia's guidance before releasing my video course - I hope I can net 1,000 prelaunch signups :)

Budibase just like your project, caravel studio

Yes, I know. You think it's a reason they didn't answer my question? May be...

Competitor doesn't allow to ask:) btw, I using flask in all of my projects, why you chose flask for caravel studio?

Because I found this framework lightweight and might at the same moment. I also tried Django (I stupidly couldn't run it) and Tornado (looked good but much less popular than Flask).
Flask looked similar to Express that used previously and I considered it too but I found Python much much more popular. Also, I found there are tons of packages in Python for any case. And it's used in AI and ML - the technologies that I would like to integrate into the studio later.-

Yup, happy to hear that. Flask all the way
