April 22, 2026 Shipped Phase 1: Free UTM link builder, no signup required

Just launched the first version of buildsome.fun — a UTM link builder for solo marketers and small teams.

The problem I kept running into:

Every UTM tool wants you to sign up, pick a plan, or sit through a demo. For something as simple as "I need a tracked link for this campaign" — that's too much friction.

What buildsome.fun does:

Paste your URL, add campaign params, get a short tracked link in under 10 seconds

No account required — UTM params work immediately in your existing analytics (GA, Plausible, Fathom, whatever you use)

Sign in with Google if you want buildsome.fun's own click dashboard, CSV export, and QR codes

Rate limited for anonymous users, unlimited for signed-in users

What it's built with:

Cloudflare Workers + Pages, React + TypeScript + Vite, Supabase (PostgreSQL), Tailwind CSS, Resend for email.

Where it's at:

Live at we.buildsome.fun/builder — free, works right now.

Phase 2 is a social scheduler that ties into the link tracking. Waitlist is open at buildsome.fun if that sounds useful.

Would love feedback — especially from anyone who runs campaigns and has opinions on what's missing.

It is such a drag when you just want to track a quick social post but end up stuck in a "create account" loop for a tool that should be a five-second task. Most people don't realize how much campaign data gets lost simply because the friction of making a UTM link is too high to bother with for every single share.

Since you're planning to add a social scheduler in Phase 2, will it automatically pull the campaign parameters from the builder so we don't have to re-enter the source and medium for every scheduled post?

Exactly, that friction is the whole reason most UTM data ends up incomplete. People skip it on "quick" shares and then wonder why their analytics look patchy.

And yes, that's the exact workflow I'm building toward in Phase 2. The scheduler composer will let you attach a tracked link directly from your saved links — so if you've already built a UTM link for a campaign, you just select it and the short URL drops into your post. No re-entering source, medium, or campaign name.

If you're posting to LinkedIn, it'll even pre-fill utm_source=linkedin and utm_medium=social automatically based on the platform you're scheduling for. The goal is that by the time you hit schedule, the tracking is already done.

Waitlist is live if you want to hear when it ships.

That workflow sounds like a massive time-saver because automating the platform-specific tags removes the last bit of human error from the tracking process. It is rare to see a tool that actually understands the "quick share" struggle while still keeping the data clean for the long term.

Solving that patchy analytics problem is a huge win for anyone managing multiple campaigns at once. By the way I handle digital PR and media placements so I see how much value there is in having ironclad tracking for high-authority features. When Phase 2 launches that seamless integration is going to be a major pull for marketers. Have you considered allowing users to save custom parameter templates for even faster scheduling?

        1. 1

Yes, that's exactly where we're headed, UTM presets are on the Phase 2 roadmap. The idea is you save your common combinations (source=twitter, medium=social, campaign=launch etc.) and apply them in one click when creating a link or scheduling a post. No re-typing, no copy-paste errors.

The PR/media placement use case is a really good one actually, high-authority placements are exactly where you can't afford a typo in a UTM param. Would love to keep you in the loop when that ships.

Are you on the waitlist at buildsome.fun?

Just a quick update, Ky—hopped on the waitlist! Really looking forward to seeing Phase 2 in action. That gap between clean data and high-authority PR is huge, so let me know when you're ready to brainstorm how to position that for the launch!

          2. 1

That is great to hear that presets are already on the roadmap. Reducing human error is where the real value lies for agencies and growth teams who handle heavy campaign volumes. The waitlist is a smart move to capture that early interest. I will definitely hop on the waitlist because I am curious to see how the final workflow handles those high stakes media placements we discussed. If you ever need a fresh perspective on how to position this tool for the digital PR market to get it featured in major tech publications feel free to reach out. There is a massive gap for tools that bridge the trust between clean data and high authority outreach. Looking forward to Phase 2.

About

UTM links are essential for tracking marketing, but every tool makes you sign up, pay, or log in just to generate a simple URL. buildsome.fun exists to fix that — free, no signup, no friction.
