How To Get A Logo
The simplest, quickest way to get a logo
I have been writing a design blog for the past few months building up to create a DIY logo ebook or online course. @tommygriffith recently sent out a series of emails about how to start an online business. We had a brief email exchange and I got some solid advice - "I personally don't like this space because I view logo designs as one of the least important / last things people should focus on." I completely agree, and this is exactly what I've been writing about. It was a face palm realization, "Why am I telling people to not invest time or money into a logo, and then later expecting them to spend time and money on a DIY logo resource?" So instead I wrapped up everything into a simple microsite at howtogetalogo.com
I've been working on buildthe.city in different forms for 2 years. It started with @MikeTaber saying in an interview to "start by selling something online." I tried to write an e-book, which turned into an online video course. I created a lot of great content, but never shipped anything. I realized the best way to gain momentum and to begin validating the effectiveness of my thoughts and approach to design for small businesses was to simply start shipping.
