Built with Emotion
Newsletter: Emotion-centric business strategies
I hadn't really started promoting or speaking about it on social media. I just updated my twitter information and I had my first subscriber to my newsletter.
This was a huge confidence building exercise and it motivated me to get over my procrastination and imposter syndrome and work on issue 2.
Just started with the story behind creating this project. This way my readers know my background and my purpose behind the project.
The tone I want to set is friendly.
The format I've decided to go with is inspired by the
head-heart-hand theory.
So I'll share:
🧠 1 emotion science concept
💜1 emotionally engaging product/personality
🙌🏽1 emotion-centric strategy to try

After evaluating tonnes of options like Ghost, Webflow, Wordpress, Substack......
I finally decided to go with Carrd + Revue + Twitter.
Why?
Because it was the simplest to create and manage. Being time deprived with a new born and another project @humanmatterlabs, this was the quickest way to get started.

Have you been in a place where you’ve felt conflicting emotions?
A place that feels so right and so wrong at the same time. It’s like that feeling you get when you eat a really well-made cheeseburger but you are meant to be eating healthy. Since we on cheeseburgers, if you are ever in Dublin you must check out Bunsen burgers. They successfully incorporate the principles of minimalism into their menu.
Less complicated choices = Quicker purchase decisions.
Back to conflicting emotions 😁😳😢🥴
I’ve experienced enough variability (places, professions and people) to feel immensely content, but the lack of ‘sameness’ has left me equally confused.
On places: I’ve lived in 6 countries (India, Singapore, UK, France, US, and Ireland). Some long enough to treat my neighbour’s cat daily. Some so short that I didn’t bother with the name of my neighbour’s cat. And yes, I am a cat person.
With professions: The past 15 years have been purely accidental. I started my career at Oracle. Went on to pursue my MSc in England and MBA in Paris, both specialising in the fashion retail business. I’ve landed up working in retail real-estate, luxury fashion, tech, design, events and in 2020 co-founded @humanmatterlabs with behavioural scientist Dr Katerina Bohle Carbonell.
About people: Well, when there are multiple places and professions involved it results in knowing different kinds of people. People who uplift you, drain you, inspire you, look up to you, humour you, worry you, welcome you, dismiss you, teach you, learn from you, protect you, deceive you…
Now back to my confusion.
I’ve realised my varied experiences has equipped me to know a little about a lot. While there’s usefulness to have a breadth of knowledge, it’s also critical to focus on depth of expertise.
With the variabilities bouncing in and out of my life, I was unable to focus on my expertise. Hence, 💌Built with Emotion.
