January 14, 2021 Making a lead magnet

In order to get people to subscribe in my newsletter I needed a good lead magnet. I decided to build a huge list/database that currently has a bit over 200 business books.

Again, I did a post on Reddit with around 50 books categorized by subject and at the end of the post I added a link to the database. To access the database, people had to sign up in my newsletter to get a link.

This post was even more popular than the previous one and around 75 people subscribed the first 2 days. Good sign!

January 13, 2021 How I came up with the idea.

As a business book lover, I constantly read new books. This makes it a bit hard sometimes to find new books. I don't want to throw neither my money nor my time away with a book that is not good or I am not interested in. So, I had the idea of making a newsletter that, each week, will recommend and summarize a business book in order to make it easier for people like me to choose their next book!

January 13, 2021 Validate the idea

The first thing I had to do, was to validate that there are people interested in my idea.

To do that, I did a post on Reddit with my favorite 10 books I read during the lockdown. At the end of the post, I added a survey with some questions to get a view of how many people read books, how often etc.

The post did pretty well so I decided to build a lead magnet for my newsletter.
