First annual deal

I don't offer annual deals, but a customer proactively asked for one and it seemed like an eminently reasonable thing. I went with a $299 price tag (basically two months off, since it's $29/mo); not a bad day, though I need to build it out further and automate the upsell process.

Hey, nice going! The product looks great! Do you mind me asking how you got started on this? Did you scratch your own itch?

      Thanks :)

Yup, exactly! I was using TinyLetter for years and fell into the classic trap of "hmm, I bet I could make a better version of this in a weekend."

Lo and behold, I was right about one part (I made a better version of a nice, minimal newsletter tool) and comically wrong about the other (it took much, much longer than a weekend...)

I totally hear ya on the comically wrong point. Ain't that always the case?! :)

Annual deals can be great for cashflow. Winning!

Interest product btw, as I consider starting new projects I'm increasingly put off by email marketing tools, when all I want to get started is to just send some really simple emails.

Yeah, it’s definitely worth the slight hit in potential MRR just to have that stability.

And aw, thanks! That’s exactly what I’m trying to address: slightly more complex than Tinyletter (or just a Gmail list), but not quite as powerful + complex as, say, Drip or ConvertKit.
