CalcRange
Free Online Calculators for Everyday Life
Hey Indie Hackers,
I’m Muhammad Umar Draz, an SEO and digital marketing specialist from Pakistan. I recently launched CalcRange, a free online platform for finance, health, education, construction, travel and everyday calculators.
The idea came from studying how people search for quick calculations. I noticed that many calculator websites were cluttered, difficult to use on mobile, provided results without explanations or were designed primarily for one country.
I wanted to build something simpler: open a calculator, enter your information and receive a clear result without registration or unnecessary distractions.
CalcRange currently includes tools for:
BMI, BMR, calories, protein and water intake
GPA, percentages and academic planning
Salary, mortgage, compound interest and retirement
Zakat calculations
Fuel and trip costs
Concrete, paint, area and volume
Age, dates, time zones and unit conversions
I built the platform using WordPress because it allows me to publish, test and improve calculators relatively quickly. My biggest challenge has been balancing calculator functionality, helpful supporting content, SEO and a clean user experience.
The platform is live here:
I’m now deciding whether to continue adding calculators or concentrate on making the existing tools significantly better.
I would genuinely appreciate your feedback:
Does the homepage clearly explain what CalcRange offers?
Which calculator has the best or worst user experience?
Should I focus on one category instead of covering several categories?
Would embeddable calculator widgets be useful to other website owners?
What feature would make you return to the website?
Honest criticism is welcome. I’ll use the feedback to guide the next version and share what I learn as the project grows.
