Cambium AI

Query public datasets with plain English questions

February 26, 2026 Imagine being able to chat with your audience. Well, now you can!

We’ve been working on a feature at Cambium AI that lets you chat directly with structured personas.

The key difference: these personas aren’t invented from scratch. They’re generated from structured public data (U.S. Census / ACS), then turned into usable audience simulations.

There are two ways to generate them.

1️⃣ Personas via the Marketing Flow

This is built for founders and marketers.

You start with context:

  • What are you building?

  • Who do you think it’s for?

  • What problem are you solving?

  • Price point?

The system then:

  • Suggests likely population segments

  • Builds personas grounded in real demographic distributions

  • Lets you open a live chat with them

You can ask:

  • Would this pricing feel expensive?

  • What would make you trust this product?

  • What would stop you from buying?

  • Does this landing page headline make sense?

This is useful early — before you have user data — when you’re still shaping positioning and ICP.

2️⃣ Personas via the Search Tool

The second path is more direct.

Instead of starting with an idea, you define the audience yourself — via chat.

For example:

  • “Working parents earning $70k–$120k in urban areas.”

  • “Recent graduates in their 20s renting, with student debt.”

  • “Small business owners with 1–10 employees.”

You describe the traits in natural language.

The system interprets that into structured demographic filters behind the scenes, builds a population-backed persona, and then lets you chat with them.

This is less about geography and more about audience definition.

It’s useful when you already have a clear ICP in mind and want to pressure-test it.

Why we built it

We kept seeing the same pattern:

  • Founders guessing their ICP

  • Messaging based on intuition

  • Paid ads launched without understanding segment size

  • Surveys with no sampling logic

We wanted something in between raw Census tables and pure AI roleplay.

Just structured public data turned into a usable simulation.

Where I’d love feedback

If you’re building:

  • Would you use personas before running ads?

  • Would you start with idea → persona (marketing flow) or population → persona (search)?

  • What would need to be true for you to trust this in your workflow?

Happy to share access in exchange for honest feedback. We’re still iterating.

November 4, 2025 Get automated marketing strategies for free

Building is the fun part. Marketing? Not so much.

Most indie founders love to code, design, and build, but hate the "marketing" part. What if you could automate the strategy?

Cambium AI is designed to do just that. Get automated marketing strategies so you can "tell your story" and get back to what you do best.

Stop guessing. Start growing.

July 24, 2025 Introducing Cambium AI - The Why

We're working on Cambium AI because we believe that some of the world's most valuable data is currently hard to access for the people who could use it most effectively.

Cambium AI exists to solve a fundamental paradox: governments and public institutions produce an immense amount of high-quality data, which is incredibly valuable for founders validating ideas, marketers finding new audiences, consultants building strategies, and policy analysts making critical decisions.

Yet, accessing this treasure is incredibly difficult. It's trapped behind clunky websites, complex APIs, and the requirement to know specialized query languages like SQL. This creates a "data divide":

  • On one side, you have large corporations and organizations with teams of data scientists who can extract these insights.

  • On the other side, you have entrepreneurs, small business owners, non-profits, and researchers who have brilliant questions but lack the technical resources to get answers.

This friction slows down innovation and forces important decisions to be made on gut feelings rather than on evidence.

We are working on Cambium AI because we see a unique opportunity to bridge that divide. For the first time, advancements in Large Language Models (LLMs) make it possible to create a truly intuitive interface for this complex data. We realized we could build a tool that acts as a universal translator—one that lets anyone, regardless of their technical background, simply ask questions in plain English and get immediate, visual answers from these powerful datasets.

Our mission is to democratize access to public data analysis. We believe that a founder with a world-changing idea in their garage should have the same ability to perform sophisticated market research as a Fortune 500 company. We exist to empower curiosity and to ensure that the best decisions are driven by the best possible data, available to everyone.

This is such a powerful mission. I love how Cambium AI is bridging the gap between raw public data and actionable insight especially for the underestimated founder in a garage. It’s clear you’re not just building a product, but a tool for economic empowerment and real-world impact.

I work with trained digital marketers and researchers who help startups like yours grow through content, outreach, and positioning. If you ever need support getting Cambium’s story in front of the right people, I’d be happy to contribute or connect.
