CAPTD
Spend less time writing. More time shooting.
Since the free beta went live, a few things shipped:
Video support — you can now upload a short video (not just photos) and CAPTD analyses the footage and any speech in it to generate the Content Pack.
Voice notes — record a voice note and CAPTD transcribes and uses it as input, plus a new "Creator Voice" profile that learns your style from saved voice samples over time.
Switched to Google Gemini as the underlying model for transcription and content generation, replacing the previous provider.
Multilingual generation refined — hashtag handling, image-aware content, and batch generation limits were all adjusted based on early usage.
Pricing simplified — moved to one-time Content Pack credits alongside the subscription plans, and reworked the pricing page to make it clearer what each tier includes.
CAPTD started the way most useful tools do — out of frustration. Late nights after a shoot, staring at a blank caption box, hunting for words for photos that had already said everything.I'm a photographer. The photo was always the easy part. The caption, the hashtags, the alt text, figuring out what hook actually works on TikTok versus what reads right on LinkedIn — that's what ate my evenings. Every platform wants something different, and I was rewriting the same photo's "story" four different ways, every single time.
So I built CAPTD to do that step for me.
How it works: upload a photo (or a voice note, a video, or just a written description), and CAPTD gives you a complete Content Pack — caption, description, platform-specific hook, image-aware hashtags, alt text, a voiceover script, and a royalty-free music suggestion. One photo in, four platforms' worth of ready-to-post content out — Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn — each with its own hook, not the same text copy-pasted four times.
Example: I ran a street portrait through it and got "This is why I always carry my camera" for Instagram, a full YouTube Shorts title, and a completely different, more professional hook for LinkedIn. Same photo, zero rewriting on my end.
A few things I cared about building this:
No signup to try it. Upload a photo, see the result, decide if it's useful — before I ask for an email address.
It's not generic AI voice. It's tuned to sound like you, based on your actual photo and style, not "check out this amazing shot 🔥📸✨."
It supports 8 languages, which turned out to matter more than I expected — a chunk of early users post to international audiences and were switching tools just for translation.
It's live now as a free beta http://www.captd.app Would genuinely love feedback from anyone here who's dealt with the same problem — especially: what would make this actually replace your current caption routine, and what's missing?
After a long long research I decided to make some new features available on the app. Work to bring to life all those new things will start today.
• 📝 Dedicated SEO title field (separate from caption — the biggest reach lever on this platform)
• 🎙️ Voiceover recording (algorithmic bonus for original audio under 50K subs)
LinkedIn-specific
• 💬 First-3-lines hook guidance
• 🚫 Guardrail against links in the caption body (redirects you to drop it in comments instead — links in-post quietly kill reach)
• 🗣️ Tone tuning so it reads less “AI,” more human
Quality of life
• 📤 One-tap native share to Instagram/TikTok
• 📁 Saved hashtag collections
Built entirely on free/near-zero-cost infra — no new paid APIs, just smarter use of the AI calls already happening under the hood.
Would love to know what your take about all that
Thanks

The hard part started after the app actually worked.
I assumed that once CAPTD was live, people would just… show up. They didn’t. I posted on Reddit — flagged as spam, karma too low, account too new. I posted on Threads, Instagram, TikTok — @captdapp sat at zero followers for weeks, comments in the single digits. I submitted to Product Hunt’s Coming Soon page and got quiet. Every channel I tried to shout into just echoed back nothing.
What I learned, slowly and a little painfully: broadcasting to strangers with no existing audience almost never works. Nobody owes a brand-new account their attention, no matter how good the tool is. The actual unlocks came from smaller, less scalable places — direct 1:1 outreach to people I already knew, photography communities where I showed up as a member first instead of just dropping a link, and indie-maker platforms built specifically for tiny, no-name projects instead of the big leaderboard-driven ones.
About
I got tired of writing captions after every shoot. So I built CAPTD — upload a photo, get a ready-to-publish Content Pack instantly. Built by a photographer, for photographers.

The interesting challenge with CAPTD is moving from an AI content generator into a workflow photographers rely on after every shoot.
How are you thinking about proving that creators will make CAPTD part of their publishing process rather than just using it occasionally when they run out of caption ideas?
