Add live closed-captions to videos for Instagram stories!
I launched the app on Product Hunt this morning! (Will update this with some metrics once I have the data)
I've put less emphasis on marketing this week, and spent more of my time doing feature development and bug fixes. At the end of the week I shipped a large update including:
- Support for landscape videos
- Support for videos in different ratios
- A redesigned app icon
As well as numerous bug fixes...
I also spent some time optimizing the App Store page. At one point this week Caption This hit #101 in the Photo & Video category, but quickly dropped back down.
So it's been 1 week since the iOS App Store launch. Here's a couple metrics from the first week:
- Gross revenue: $110, Net revenue: $70
- The app store rank reached #225 in the Photo & Video category
- About 50 downloads (some via free promo codes)
The first week brought a number of bugs to light, as well as a few features requests I hadn't thought of. Surprisingly, a few customers have been using the app on LinkedIn instead of Instagram, which has brought other challenges (like supporting landscape videos).

Just one thing before I buy: does it support other languages? (portuguese-Brazil)

Marquato, thanks for asking! In the current version, it uses the speech recognizer in the phone's current language. In the next version (coming in a few days) there will be a menu to pick which language you want to use.
