I've learned a ton. Having done this before its so interesting what works for this that didn't work for my other app. My other app was service based and required sales calls and teams and support. Most people that have purchased this tool have never talked to me.

It's blowing my mind compared to the amount of work I'm used to.

We've kept adding new features and rolled out support for Video and RAW files as well.

I'll check back in in another month!

November 25, 2022 2 Months In: $390 MRR

We shipped a ton of features. Learned a lot about large databases and optimized the performance as a result. Currently sitting at 13 paid subscriptions. $390 MRR.

Running a Black Friday Sale and working with an influencer to drive more trials. Looking forward to the next update!

Super exciting, Paul! Keep it up!

What performance optimisations did you do?

    1. 1

Added better indexing to the database to handle the large amount of JOINs on the tags per asset.

Changed the way we load data in the app. Checks the store before making requests for data we might already have.

Small tweaks with a big impact.

        Very exciting, well done!

October 5, 2022 Got our first customer!

We got out first customer today that we didn't know personally. It's such a great feeling knowing that people see the value in the product enough to buy it for their team! We haven't fully launched yet so they found us through a cold outreach. I'm going to try to do a few more this week.

September 30, 2022 I'm back at it!

After a short break from Indie Hacking, due to my product finding its feet and growing into a full business, I'm back with a new hobby.

Welcome to Capture Collab!

Yes, Google Drive and Dropbox exist but they aren't built for photo sharing. Event Google Photos doesn't work with advanced permissions and if you need to remove someone, well too bad, the link is public. They have access for life.

Capture Collab fixes all of that. It's simple photo-sharing for Teams.

Create as many Libraries as you want. Set your tags and upload your assets.

Invite people to view filtered lists of your images.

Here's an example.

Let's say you are an agency and work with several clients. Create a Library for that client, upload the assets, and invite them in. Now every time you upload in the future, they will already have them.

Here's one more. Let's say you are TedX and you have 10 speakers and 5 photographers shooting. Create a Library called TedX Sydney, invite the speakers to it with an expiring view that ends a week after the event. During the event the photographers upload and the Speakers instantly have access to high quality photos to share on their social in real time. A week later, you still have a beautiful archive of searchable images but the speakers' access has expired.

I'm looking forward to this journey again and pumped to be back in the community!
