With work loads changing and everything else in life happening, it can be hard to feel like anything is moving in your passion project.

I've read others pumping out projects in weeks, or a couple months, and they can just fire away quickly to see what sticks. What I've realized is I am me and I have my own timeline. Being okay with my own timeline as long as I'm moving is acceptable.

Right now, what free time there is available is used to design every edge case of the product within Figma. Slowly but surely! A big mental hurdle I'm experiencing is finding out this is going to be developed and worried about the capital it will take to do so. I know I can do some work on Webflow but a developer or engineer is needed for completion. I've found the best course of action to break this barrier is turning the problem into small actionable items.

If I can't afford $2k right now to have someone do everything what can I do?

1. Learn about marketing my product and getting people onboard beforehand.
2. Find communities for devs and engineers to see what is possible.
3. Create a task on Upwork and interview differing candidates to learn requirements.
4. Keep posting on IH and PH.
5. Keep designing, be ready for when the time comes to bring wireframes to life.
6. Don't give up.

Today begins the (documented) journey of this crazy idea I had this month.

My Dad used to make me go into stores, find the item he wanted at the grocery store and if it wasn't there I would have to ask for a rain check. Does anyone remember rain checks or browsing the newspaper advertisements?

Like others, I shop for my own groceries and cook from home most days. I'm always wondering where the best "bang for my buck" is. So I will start pulling up one of the many grocery store apps or google search "chicken breast" to see where the best price is. Soon after giving up and just picking a place to go because I get annoyed.

BRAIN BLAST, why isn't there an easy to use product out there that I can just tell it what groceries I want and it tells me where to go?

That brings me here, ready to throw things to the wall, see what sticks, and not be afraid to fail. Easier said then done but I'm hoping people will find this product useful as I do. I want to get feedback and create something useful for others. Lets be honest, we all could stand to save more money and spend less on gas to get our shopping done.

CartGenie's MVP will let the user search what they want, add it to their cart, set their search radius, and it will tell them the single best price on all of the items in their cart. I can already envision more and more things that could be useful but that is my starting point! 🚀
