Cash flow forecasting. No accounting software required.
I spent years in FP&A and treasury before teaching myself Go and React. The problem I kept seeing: small business owners have zero cash flow visibility unless they're already on QuickBooks or Xero.
So I built cashwise.fyi. Upload a CSV from any bank, get a 13-week forecast, AI-categorized transactions, insight cards, and a CFO-style narrative report. No accounting software, no setup, no login.
A few things I learned building it:
Hybrid AI beats pure AI on cost. A Go keyword-matching layer pre-categorizes ~40% of transactions before Claude sees them. Cost dropped from 8¢ to 3–5¢ per upload.
Confidence scoring matters. Low-confidence categorizations get flagged for user review. I don't think AI outputs should be trusted blindly, especially with someone's financial data.
Full session costs ~3–5¢ total — parsing, categorization, insight cards, and streaming CFO report included.
