CastSpot

It was my first ProductHunt launch ever. Although I am not too optimisitic that CastSpot will have a big take-off growth, I wanted to do it primarily because of the experience, checking it off my bucket list and not having those regrets regarding "what if I HAD tried". After taking much longer than expected (as usual), I have finally finished the MVP for my first side project and am super excited to launch it soon. CastSpot is a platform dedicated to helping Podcasters grow their shows together - by helping them find others that they can crossfeature on their episodes. The idea came to me as I was trying to start my own podcast and noticed many people in the podcasting community struggling to find not only competent guests, but also an audience that would help them get their show off the ground. In this way, I designed CastSpot as a "two birds one stone" solution.

I developed it using Django and React, which caused most of the delay due to my lack of professional experience in both (I work as a Java Enterprise Developer at my full-time job). This lead to me learning a ton in the last months and helped me broaden my skillset immensely - this alone makes the project a success in my opinion.
