I just shipped new and improved prompts to help Castup AI produce better content based on the content it has generated and the feedback I have received so far.

As mentioned before, Castup AI was built by the team behind useCastup.com, a startup that provides professional podcast editing services.
One of the reasons we decided to launch Castup AI as a free resource is because we believe we could use it generate leads for our podcast editing services - and we were right. Over the weekend, we had new podcasters sign up to try the podcast editing services offered by the parent company!
I decided to add some extra zing to our launch by making a goal to end the day as the #1 product of the day (and if successful, donate $1000 to charity)

This was the first project that I was building with Open AI (specifically ChatGPT), and the prompt engineering I had to do to stop ChatGPT from apologizing took more time than the prompt engineering to generate actual content.
I still haven't been able to effectively stop it from ever apologizing, but I was fine launching an imperfect product.

Turns out, even if you try to pay Twitter to promote a tweet, it just doesn't happen? 😅
I got 0 impressions from the promotion I had put up on Day #1, and just deactivated it because organic has been performing well so far. I have the launch scheduled on Product Hunt, and here I am, getting ready to launch CastupAI.com on Indie Hackers.
After debating whether to launch as a free product or not, or whether to launch with a website or not, I decided to just ship CastupAI.com on Twitter and Hacker News.
The next day I woke up to more than 200 visits on the site, with 16 podcasters having used Castup AI within 24 hours of launch.
It took more than a hundred attempts to write the multiple prompts that we are now using to generate the output for the podcasts depending on whether they were going to interview someone, whether they were going to speak on a topic, etc.
Fun fact: At one point, the bot was optimised to ask fewer questions if the guest was someone famous, but I quickly realised that the output just becomes so much better if the AI has all the data it needs.
I was on a growth meeting with the Castup team and we were discussing how we can use AI to make our clients lives easier. Since I lead Growth experiments at Castup, I decided to build a bot that can help podcasters go from idea to recording within a few minutes.
